About the project

The An Creagán Arts Programme is an innovative rural community arts project in Northern Ireland that develops and celebrates various art forms together. The programme aims to contribute to the growth of the Arts by addressing issues within the rural community through an inclusive arts programme.

The project works with local artists to develop a lasting legacy at An Creagán and throughout the local area, reflecting Northern Ireland’s diverse society and culture.

Funding from the National Lottery paid for various activities as part of the project, including a programme with writers and artists in residence, photography workshops, carving and sculpture workshops, a volunteer programme and exhibitions.

The An Creagán Arts Programme helped residents to discover the hidden talents of a rural community. Regardless of previous experience and ability, participants learned to express their creativity in a safe and supportive environment, increasing their confidence and self-esteem whilst engaging with their communities.
