This project received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to improve the collection of art that they hold. This means that generations to come can continue to learn and enjoy from exciting and diverse exhibits.
By using National Lottery money to assist museums, galleries and libraries in acquiring new objects and collections, Heritage Lottery Fund is helping their visitors enjoy, engage and discover as much as possible about heritage. For example, many important British paintings have been prevented from becoming part of foreign collections so that communities in the UK can continue to learn from them.
The National Lottery supports the acquisition of objects and collections as they are an important source of education. They also contribute to the development and support of museums and galleries by increasing interest in their collections, and mean that we can keep fantastic heritage in the country for everyone to visit and enjoy.
