About the project

Let’s Get Cooking recently took part in a photo shoot, helping us to celebrate 20 years of National Lottery Funding.

Let’s Get Cooking is a Lottery funded project run by The Children’s Food Trust.  It has grown to be the country’s largest network of healthy cooking clubs. As well as school-based clubs, they provide training and support for other organisations running cooking activities for children, young people and adults. They work in various settings including primary, secondary and special schools, pupil referral units, children’s centres and charities.

So far, more than 2 million people have benefited from Let’s Get Cooking – by attending club sessions, taking part in community cooking events, or benefiting from skills passed on at home.

The Big Lottery Fund was set up to distribute National Lottery money to projects working in local health, education, environment and charitable purposes. Funding is delivered mostly through programmes tailored specifically to the needs of communities in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland as well as some programmes that cover the whole of the UK.
