About the project

NoFit State’s next OPEN HOUSE tour investment comes from the Arts Council’s National Lottery-funded Strategic Touring programme. It will support the Cardiff-based circus to create opportunities for community engagement, public participation and audience development in its 2015 OPEN HOUSE tour.

OPEN HOUSE is a daytime circus experience for public spaces, activating city centres, high streets or parks for an hour, a day, a weekend or a week and transforming these spaces into a circus village. In 2015, the company will tour OPEN HOUSE to 10 locations around England.

Ali Williams, Creative Director, NoFit State said: "OPEN HOUSE is a really fun project. Directed by Orit Azaz, it is an immersive, ever-evolving large-scale circus installation where anything can happen and everything becomes an excuse for performance and spectacle. So, if ever you wanted to run away with the circus then this is your chance. Without giving too much away, the audience will get to see some spectacular circus, have a go at trying some circus skills out, and quite possibly end up performing in a happening.
