National Lottery Funding Instrumental in Success of Uk Music Projects

27th January 2014

Monday, January 27, 2014: The National Lottery has released an online infographic to highlight how its good cause funding is hitting all the right notes with music projects across the UK.

The infographic is released as part of the National Lottery’s ‘Just Imagine’ campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the massive impact that £31 billion in project funding has had across the UK since the first National Lottery draw 20 years ago.

The National Lottery has invested £42 million into 16,900 music projects across the UK, from The Royal Opera House to singing groups for the elderly. A total of 2,190 grants have been awarded to music groups for new instruments and 500 brass bands have been funded to the tune of £8.6m. Music students have also benefitted, with funding reaching over 70 music schools across the UK

Released on Twitter (@lottogoodcauses #JustImagine) and Facebook today, the video is the 27th in a series of 31 items to feature through January as part of ‘Just Imagine’ – one for each day of the month and each £1 billion of National Lottery funding.

For anyone wanting to find out more about funded projects in their area, the National Lottery has launched a ‘Good Cause Finder’. To see projects in your area, or to find out more about Just Imagine January, visit www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk
