Offer details
'It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot,' said Queen Victoria of her holiday home Osborne, and we agree! Osborne was built for her and Prince Albert, so visiting today gives an unparalleled glimpse into her reign. The staterooms are a masterpiece of Victorian opulence, and you can wander through the building, immersing yourself in a lavish world of banquets and dancing, with much of the original furniture. But Osborne was also a family home, and kids can learn more about Victoria’s nine children at Swiss Cottage – once their own private world which included a play kitchen and shop. There is a play area, adventure trail, and interactive exhibition.
Spring is the perfect time to visit the gardens, especially the terrace gardens with their ornate tulip display, and don’t forget to head to the water too. Osborne looks out over Victoria’s private beach with beautiful views of the sea – you can still go inside her bathing machine! Head through the woodland walk and find yourself on a perfect sandy beach, maybe even get an ice-cream from our Beach Café.
Parking:
Free parking 50m from reception centre, and additional parking a further 230m from the house entrance.
