English Heritage – Witley Court and Gardens
7–8 March 2026, 11–15 March 2026
Offer details
In 1937, a fire swept through Witley Court, a beautiful sprawl of Italianate stone that hosted some of the greatest parties of Victorian Britain. The house has never been restored and is today a magnificently romantic ruin that still allows you to almost touch its opulent past. Our free audio guide allows you to follow the stories of the great families, and the army of servants employed to service their lifestyle. Wandering through open-roofed labyrinthine passages and rooms is an unforgettable experience.
The Gardens have been conserved and now once again boast the topiary, intricate parterres and ornate landscaping that made their name in the Victorian era. There is also a Wildlife walk and Wilderness Play Area with basket swings and wooden animal rides. Picnics are welcome on the grounds and there are full changing facilities and light refreshments available at the visitor centre.
Parking:
Plenty of free parking for English Heritage members displaying a valid car sticker. Non-members must pay. There are four coach bays. Note there is no off-site parking available.
