The School Games

The School Games keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide more young people with the opportunity to achieve their personal best.

The School Games, which is funded by The National Lottery through Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, is a government-led programme designed to deliver competitive school sport to all young people.

Starting in 2006, the mass participation sporting event has grown to provide more than 2.3 million opportunities for young people, either in primary or secondary school to participate. This can range from competing to leading, managing or even officiating events.

The School Games operate on a local level with competitions between local schools before inviting winners and successful schools to The School Games national finals. The finals are a four day multi-sport event which allows children to compete on a national level, as well as be in an inspiring and motivational setting.

Schools can find more information about The School Games in their local area by registering on the school games website - https://www.yourschoolgames.com/
