Liz Bonnin and Mollie King shine a spotlight on the UK’s most endangered species with new National Lottery ‘Habitats of Hope’ exhibition as COP28 commences

To mark the beginning of this year’s UN Climate Change Conference, award-winning TV presenter and scientist, Liz Bonnin along with radio and TV presenter, Mollie King unveiled ‘Habitats of Hope’, an immersive exhibition at the Horniman Museum and Gardens created by The National Lottery. The new exhibition celebrates the lesser-known UK species that have been saved through the incredible work of projects run by various organisations supported by National Lottery funding.

Scarlette Douglas unveils symbolic sculpture dedicated to Windrush pioneers at Tilbury Docks to mark Black History Month

In commemoration of Black History Month, and the 75th anniversary of Windrush we’ve unveiled a unique piece of art, a wireframe recreation of HMT Empire Windrush, at Tilbury Docks, the port where the ship docked in 1948. The installation aims to celebrate and reflect upon the huge contribution made by Windrush pioneers and their families across the UK.

Extraordinary talent from the UK Film Industry unveil the National Lottery ‘Walk of Stars’ installation to mark the start of the BFI London Film Festival

The National Lottery has created the ‘Walk of Stars’, in partnership with the BFI, an installation which shines a light on the incredible talent behind brilliant films, as well as the rising stars of the UK film industry, who have all been supported by National Lottery funding through the BFI. The National Lottery contribution to the UK film industry includes having funded the making of more than 600 films in the past 26 years, which have won an astonishing 504 awards including 16 Oscars, 124 BAFTAs and 33 Cannes awards, from more than 1,868 nominations.

The National Lottery partners with rugby greats to celebrate grassroots funding across the UK

As part of a celebration of grassroots rugby and ahead of key matches during the Rugby World Cup, The National Lottery partnered with rugby greats from across the four nations to highlight the £30 million a week raised by players for good causes and showcase funding for local clubs.
