Neil & Andrew Simpson
19-year-old Neil Simpson made history by claiming Britain's first male Paralympic gold on snow, triumphing in the men's Super-G vision-impaired class, with 21-year-old brother Andrew on hand as his guide.
He was the only Briton to top the podium in 2022, also winning bronze in the men's Super-Combined class and was given the honour of carrying the Union Jack at the closing ceremony at the end of the Beijing Winter Games.
Neil has Nystagmus, which causes involuntary eye movements. A skier since the age of four, he enjoyed ski trips with his elder brother. The talented siblings, from Banchory in Aberdeenshire, have enjoyed a rapid rise to the top. They broke through in international competition in 2018, winning slalom gold and giant slalom bronze at the Para Alpine World Cup. Neil went on to be shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
