The campaign helping more of us to rediscover a love for reading
1st Mehefin 2026
2026 is the National Year of Reading. Led by the Department for Education and the National Lottery-funded National Literacy Trust, it’s all about getting people reading for fun again.
2026 is the National Year of Reading, the biggest campaign of its kind in a generation, helping more people discover or rediscover a love of reading.
The campaign is a collaboration between the Department for Education and National Lottery-funded charity the National Literacy Trust. Together, they’re aiming to tackle the decline in reading for enjoyment across the UK and reconnect people with the joy of reading.
The National Year of Reading is encouraging the nation to Go All In and discover how reading can unlock the things they already love - whether that’s music, cooking, sport, travel and more.
About the National Literacy Trust
