Celebrating St Valentine's Day this year? We have an amazing guide of 13 National Lottery funded things you can do this St Valentine’s Day weekend across the UK to make your romantic days out easy and fun-filled.
National Gallery (London)
London is home to some beautiful art that captures the romance of it’s time. Pieces like Venus and Mars in the National Gallery are a perfect example. And it's free! The National Gallery is open until 9pm on Valentine’s Day and from 10am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Hillsborough Castle and Gardens (Northern Ireland)
Take a romantic walk around the gardens of this historic royal castle set just south of Lisburn, Northern Ireland. National Lottery players have helped preserve the site’s unique heritage and is a must-visit attraction.
The National Football Museum (Manchester)
If your date is a sports fan, then it doesn’t get much better than the Football Museum in Manchester. You can take a look at the match-worn shirts from football legends to the trophies of yesteryear. There’s even a unique look behind the scenes of women’s football in 2019. You could even see which one of you are better at a penalty shootout.
The Swan Theatre (Midlands)
“Shall I compare National Lottery players to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate…” Ok, this isn't exactly what Shakespeare wrote but if you can’t get enough of the Bard, then catching a show at The Swan Theatre is the one for you. If you don’t want to catch a performance, there are also behind the scenes tours and daily exhibitions.
Loch Lomond (Scotland)
Want to spend this St Valentine’s Day with the great outdoors? Well, Loch Lomond has it all. Take a gentle walk through the forest or hop on the water bus and experience the stunning surroundings from the Loch itself. Loch Lomond has received National Lottery funding to improve and conserve the area’s natural heritage
V&A Dundee (Scotland)
Scotland’s first design museum is a world-class centre for design and culture. Perfect for people who enjoy the combination of science and architecture. There are tours, workshops and courses for all to take part.

Want to be at one with nature, yet protected from the elements? The Eden Project’s biomes are the perfect St Valentine’s Day location for you. Why give your partner flowers when you can be surrounded by thousands of them?
Campbeltown Picture House (Scotland)
Movie buff? Well, the recently restored Campbeltown Picture House is showing the Oscar-winning romantic supernatural thriller Ghost on Valentines Day. If Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore aren’t your thing then they are also showing Brief Encounter on Sunday 16th February.
Castell Deudraeth (Wales)
The Gothic-style castle, now a hotel, is located on the grounds of Portmeirion - a little piece of Italy in Wales – it doesn’t get more romantic than this. Portmeirion has been designed in the style of an Italian village and is one of Wales' most picture-perfect places. With colourful facades and a secluded beach, it is truly breathtaking https://portmeirion.wales/stay/accommodation/castell-deudraeth
