MyBnk is a charity that delivers expert-led financial education programmes to 7-25 year olds in UK schools and youth organisations.

Together with young people, they have created innovative, high impact and high energy workshops that bring money to life. MyBnk covers topics such as saving, budgeting, public finance, social enterprise and start-up entrepreneurship. Alongside delivery, they also design projects and training programmes. Since 2007 they have helped over 220,000 young people learn how to manage their money.

Guy Rigden, MyBnk’s CEO believes it’s work is vital since financial education is not universally compulsory in UK schools and many teachers lack the time and confidence to become experts.

Simply saying, achieve 'this' isn't enough. How is it being delivered, monitored and evaluated? Who is delivering it and what is the priority? It has to be high quality, fun and relevant.

Their aim is to give young adults 'survival' money skills and knowledge that they can implement immediately in their transition into independent living so they can navigate the system and make informed decisions. Topics range from budgeting, banking and borrowing to student finance, tax, pensions and enterprise.

Three National Lottery grants have helped the organisation deliver a number of tailored programmes, with a three-year Reaching Communities grant in 2013 helping 9,000 young people to develop their enterprise capability and improve employability and life skills. An Awards for All grant in 2014 specifically funded MyBnk trainers in the North East. This enabled them to reach more than 3,000 young people with MyBnk programmes, including Money Twist, and Enterprise-in-a-Box.

The National Lottery has been a major funder for our work, enabling us to grow, adapt and evolve. MyBnk is going from strength to strength, always pushing for positive impact, and to deliver a quality, expert-led, meaningful education for young people that can change lives.
