Good Luck #TNLAthletes - Social Media Moment

Join us in wishing luck to #TNLAthletes ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics and let’s #MakeAmazingHappen!

Lizzy Yarnold OBE, Skeleton Racer and most successful British Winter Olympian

Together, sports distributors, governing bodies, projects and participants will post their Good Luck Messages on social media on Friday 25th February 2022, to wish luck to the National Lottery funded athletes competing at the Beijing games, and you’re invited to take part.

As an organisation that has received National Lottery funding, you’re part of an incredible circle of funding, that supports athletes from grassroots up to elite level. We want to celebrate this moment together!

How can I get involved?

It’s easy to join in! We are asking you to rally your volunteers, staff and service users with a very simple ask:

Share your Good Luck Message for Paralympics GB athletes on social media on Friday 25th February 2022, using the #TNLAthletes and #MakeAmazingHappen hashtags. (Please use the #GwneudPethauGwych and #AthletwyrYLG hashtags in all Welsh language posts).

What does the ‘Good Luck’ message look like?

Feel free to get creative with your Good Luck Message – use fun props, create banners, wear your sports kit, film yourself shouting ‘Good Luck’, head to your sports venue or outside… The sky is the limit! Click here to see some great examples from our Good Luck moment for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Does an athlete heading to Beijing 2022 come from your local area or governing body? Now’s your chance to shout about it and wish them luck! You can tag specific athletes and teams, or wish all Paralympics GB athletes good luck.

Please find our digital toolkit here, with social assets, example copy, and further guidance.

Why should I get involved?

The National Lottery funds over 1,000 elite athletes on UK Sport’s World Class Programme, allowing them to train full time, have access to the world’s best coaches and benefit from pioneering technology, science and medical support. The upcoming 2022 Beijing games will see many of these athletes compete on an international stage, thanks to the support of National Lottery players.

The National Lottery has also funded over 8,360 grassroots sports projects and has invested more than £5.7 billion into community sport, helping people across the UK access sport and live active lives. By taking part in the Good Luck Campaign, it will show you’re part of an incredible sporting network that’s been made possible thanks to National Lottery players.

Using the #TNLAthletes and #MakeAmazingHappen hashtags will also boost your social media and brand visibility on the day and give more people the chance to hear about your organisation – you may even get shared by a future Winter Olympian or Paralympian! (Please use the #GwneudPethauGwych and #AthletwyrYLG hashtags in all Welsh language posts).

Together, we can flood social media with images to show the incredible impact of the National Lottery’s support for good causes across the UK.
